About Us Collins Communications Co. was founded in 1986 by Don Dieckman and was originally known as Yuma Communications West. Yuma Communications West was a branch of Yuma Communications started in 1975 in Yuma, CO. For a time, Collins Communications was located at 1400 Webster Ave. In 1995 a new building was built at 101 N. Link Lane and has been our base of operations ever since. Collins Communications was a dealer for EF Johnson,

Regency, Maxon, Icom and Ritron. In 1999 we became a dealer for Kenwood Communications which has quickly become our premier line of Radios. We also designed and installed Cellular and Public Safety DAS Systems, Point to Point Microwave Systems, Satellite up and down links, Solar Powered Communication Sites and Communication Towers. Currently in development is a Nexedge Digital Trunking system covering from Cheyenne, WY down to Monument Hill, East to Akron, CO and still expanding! All Sites are linked for continuous coverage. In addition to designing, installing, and maintaining many Radio Systems, Cellular and Public Safety DAS Systems, Microwave and Satellite Up/Down Links, we also maintain a large fleet of Rental Radios, Repeaters and Cellular BDA’s. Supporting many local Festivals, Charities and Holiday Celebrations.

The Future We will continue to expand our Nexedge Digital Trunking System into new areas and provide wide area roaming.
